Azerbaijan, Baku, July 13 / Trend T.Hajiyev / "Musavat Party has burnt all the bridges and therefore it is absolutely impossible to unite with them in any way", Leader of the Azerbaijan Liberal Party Prof. Dr. Lala Shevket told Trend News. She commented on the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan's (APFP) decision to establish an electoral bloc with the Musavat Party. "I expected such a decision. Earlier at the Azadliq Bloc's meeting, I told APFP Chairman Ali Karimli that we'll not interfere in the party's unification with Musavat. But, the Liberal Party will never unite with Musavat, because that party has burnt all the bridges," Shevket said. Member of the Azadliq Political Bloc the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party has decided at the recent meeting of its Presidium to establish an electoral bloc with the Musavat Party. The Azadliq Political Bloc consists of three parties - Azerbaijan Liberal Party, Azerbaijan Popular Front Party and Citizen and Development Party. ALP Leader L.Shevket said that she informed Karimli about the impossibility of cooperation with Musavat as early as January of this year: "Later we have met with Karimli in March. To avoid speculations in the press, I have told Karimli that I am taking a pause in my communications with the press starting on March 11. I have completely stopped talking with the media in order to allow APFP to determine its position and make a final decision. So, I have been expecting this decision. I wish them every success and all the best. I have said in January that if APFP unites with Musavat, then the Azadliq Bloc will be no more. Therefore, the Azadliq Bloc is ceasing functioning," Shevket said. |
